For me it is when you have had the cd in your car for months, or they are your constant “i don’t know what to listen to right now” - so you go for it. I do agree though, the absolutely favorites (life time favorites) are the ones that happy, sad, just waking up, falling asleep, going out, whenever - you are in touch with the sound.
For me it’s when I can listen to them at any time and not skip a track.
