Sasquatch Festival 2009 Roundup

Sasquatch Festival 2009 was amazing. In no particular order … here are some of the weekend highlights.

Animal Collective - Panda Bear’s chants rang through The Gorge as beautiful as Julie Andrew’s “Do, Re, Me, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do” in The Sound Of Music. “Merriweather Post Pavillion” is the perfect album, it makes me feel so good. See full album here.

Kings Of Leon - KOL was the headliner the opening night of Sasquatch. They put on 1.5 set closing the night and closing their tour which has been over a year long since their album came out. As sick of one might be from hearing the overplayed track “Sex On Fire” - I found myself enjoying the song all over again (as if it was the first time I heard it) - when I watched them perform live. Damn these guys are so hot. They wreak sex! See full album here.

Bon Iver - So beautiful. Even more beautiful then I imagined.

See full album here. This is Justin Vernon’s beautiful Fender guitar pictured below. Watch the video of him performing here. It melts my heart and makes me tingle.

Grizzly Bear - It was kind of awesome to see them live in such a large venue. They kicked off my Monday lineup with an excellent performance. I realized how amazing and adorable the drummer is as well. See full album here.

Gogol Bordello - Go Go Go Go! I totally judged this band in the past by the crowd and the people that I know that listen to them. Pre-Sasquatch I had never even given Gogol Bordello a chance. I am a moron (sometimes). Gogol Bordello was the most fun and entertaining getdown at Sasquatch. Sure there were some meatheads in the pit trying to start shit, but for the most part it was a bouncy gypsy punk dance party. I have mad love for ‘Start Wearing Purple’. See full album here.

Girl Talk Girl Talk Girl Talk Girl Talk - Okay, so I know it would be super lame if I went to a festival and left the festival after seeing over 20 bands and told you that Girl Talk was my favorite show. Well, Girl Talk was one of the best shows. He is always a fun time, but this time around I somehow made it on stage in front of 15,000 people and got to watch the thousands of people do the craziest of things. Girl Talk is the ultimate party DJ. He pumps me up and he will pump you up too. By far these are my best photos from the whole festival. See album here.

Go Green Man Go …

Okay well that is about all she wrote, for now.
